Ms. Shameega Couert is a results-driven administrative leader with over 22 years of experience at the University of the Western Cape. Currently serving as the Co-Chair of the CHS Administrative Forum, she is a recognized specialist in academic lifecycle management, regulatory compliance, and systems optimization. Shameega is a certified Facilitator, Moderator, and Assessor, dedicated to the professional development of university staff and the digital transformation of administrative processes.

In her current role within the Department of Social Service Professions, she leads high-stakes reporting for professional councils (SACSSP) and spearheads “plugged-in” initiatives that bridge the gap between complex data and student-centered support. Her presentation today, “Proactive, People-Centred, and Plugged-In,” draws on her extensive experience in implementing multi-phase models for student advising and quality assurance to meet the evolving needs of higher education governance.
